What is the PYP?
PYP stands for Primary Years Programme.
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for children aged 3 - 12 nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. Through its inquiry-led, transdisciplinary framework, the PYP challenges students to think for themselves and take responsibility for their learning as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.
The PYP encourages students to reflect, to make informed choices and to take positive actions that will help their peers and the community. Students demonstrate a deeper sense of learning, by applying their knowledge to service and positive action.
What is unique about the PYP?
The PYP is a transformative experience for students, teachers and the whole school communities. PYP offers rich opportunities in which the students are applying themselves through the research, taking action, identifying issues whether they are local or global and how they can make a difference. The students feel powered and have a sense of agency. They utilize all aspects of the primary program such as approaches to learning, Learner Profile and attitudes.
By developing the attributes of the IB learner profile, students also learn how to demonstrate respect for themselves and others, developing international-mindedness by working with others for a shared purpose and taking positive action for change.
Enrollment Process and Fees
The parent interview and student entrance assessment are required before officially enrolled. We accept both international and local student applications without the necessity to produce foreign passports.
The exhibition is a culminating experience to reflect all the major features of the PYP. It offers the students the opportunity to explore knowledge conceptually, which is significant and relevant, to reflect on and apply their learning, to choose appropriate courses of action and to display appropriate attitudes.
